Solid Walnut 2 person Bench.
When contacted about building this bench i was pretty excited, I thought it would challenge my design and build skills and indeed it was a challenge but very rewarding at the same time. I want to thank the owner of the bench for trusting me with this Commission.
A Rustic Barn in Dunville Ontario.
When I started this company I really wanted to use all of the best materials I could find here in Ontario. Like so many projects today I started looking online for some interesting lumber to buy. I contacted someone in Dunville, Ontario who had a substantial amount of Walnut to sell. I arrived at the beautiful lakeside setting and was shown the wood stored in a now unused rustic barn that was over 150 years old. I bought all the wood and my father, wife and myself loaded all of the Walnut onto a trailer that was clearly straining under the load. A lot of the items you see here use the Walnut lumber from that barn in Dunville.

Custom Built to Fit Your Style and Needs
This is a Fantastic piece of wood, selected by owner with assistance from Slater Design. Simple Matte Black Hairpin legs complete the table. All cracks considered vulnerable were stabilized with casting Epoxy. Finished with 8 coats of Polyurethane, and hand sanded and waxed for years of durability and beauty.
Walnut, Azure Epoxy, Steel I-Beam legs Coffee Table
Here we have two pieces of Walnut connected with a flowing river of azure tinted casting epoxy. Legs are an 8" I beam which have been finished with Beeswax to maintain the rawness of the steel. This table is 48" long x 19" wide x 15" high. By the way did you know a coffee table is supposed to be about 1-2" lower than your couch?
Designing with Wood, Carbon, Steel
A sizable scrap piece from the above table was leftover, and I didn't want it to go to waste. So we turned it into 3 gorgeous matching end tables with matte blags legs to go with the main coffee table.
Spalted Maple Coffee Table
Here we have a piece of Spalted Maple. Spalting occurs when a fungus attacks the tree causing some lovely marbling throughout the wood grain. We cast the live edge of this table in epoxy, preserving the beautiful bark and even some tendrils of moss. This table is 68" long and anywhere form 18" - 22" wide. Hair pin legs were located to keep the table on the level, a bit tricky with a long narrow table such as this.
